Shinjuku Gyoen Garden

Usually a must see for any visitor to Tokyo, Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is a large but pretty park right next to Shinjuku station.  But people on a budget looking for a more traditionally Japanesy park may want to consider Korakoen park, Kiyosumi park or Rikugen park.

Budget travel tips

  • Walk to the park from Shinjuku station, rather than going to another station a little closer.

  • Closes on Monday, do don’t waste money coming here then!
