Tokyo Metropolitan Observation Decks

The free Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office offers great views of the city during daytime and evening, plus on clear days you can even see Mount Fuji.  You can also buy your name in Japanese characters in the gift shop at the top.

A tourist information center is found on the 1st floor (help in English available).  It has some excellent, free maps for hiking in or near Tokyo, so ask about these.
