Tokyo Skytree

The new Tokyo Skytree, at 634 metres tall, is the tallest building in Japan and the second tallest in the world.  The complex also features a large shopping centre with lots of food and drink from across Japan.

Budget travel tip

  • Walk to/from the tourist hot spot of Asakusa to save on train fares.
  • Spend an hour or two in the Skytree complex,  and try some free food samples!
  • The free Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office also offers great views of the city.
  • Check at the information desk for current discounts for foreigner travellers (which included a fast pass the last time we went!).

How to get there

Take the Toei Oedo line (pink Metro line) or Hanzomon (purple Metro line) to Oshiage(SKYTREE) station.
