The new Tokyo Skytree, at 634 metres tall, is the tallest building in Japan and the second tallest in the world. The complex also features a large shopping centre with lots of food and drink from across Japan.
Budget travel tip
- Walk to/from the tourist hot spot of Asakusa to save on train fares.
- Spend an hour or two in the Skytree complex, and try some free food samples!
- The free Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office also offers great views of the city.
- Check at the information desk for current discounts for foreigner travellers (which included a fast pass the last time we went!).
How to get there
Take the Toei Oedo line (pink Metro line) or Hanzomon (purple Metro line) to Oshiage(SKYTREE) station.
