Kyoto City Bus All-day Pass

Buses are the best way to get around Kyoto.  The subway system is not as good as other cities and this super cheap pass is a great way to go all over the city.  This pass provides unlimited travel on the city buses for one day.

What does it cost?

A one day pass is 500 yen for Adults and 250 yen for Children.

When can I use it?

Is it worth it?

Almost always worth it, as it’s cumbersome to pay without a card and you will start saving money after just a few bus rides.  Maybe not worth it if you are spending all day in one place.

What are the rules?

  • You can only use the bus within the set area of Kyoto.  This is shown on your ticket.
  • Some places, such as Arashiyama Bamboo Groves are outside this area, but its just a small surcharge or short train journey.  Or you can just walk it!

Where can I buy it?

You can buy them from the ticket machines of subway stations, for example in Kyoto station.  Ask at the Tourist Information Center in Kyoto station if you need help.
