2 Day Nikko Pass

The 2 Day Nikko Pass is the best way to visit Nikko.  The 2 days provides plenty of time to see all the main shrines and temples in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.  It includes a round ticket from Tokyo, free use of buses in the area and discounts at most places.

What does it cost?

Adults 2,600 yen, Children 1,300 yen.

When can I use it?

Is it worth it?

Because some of the areas in Nikko are quite spaced out, you will need to use the bus at least a few times. The discounts at the various tourist attractions will also save you lots of money. You will almost certainly save money by using this pass.

What are the rules?

  • Cannot be used on Limited Express trains.

Where can I buy it?

You can buy it at the Tobu Sightseeing Service Center in Tobu Asakusa station.  Make sure you take a copy of a free sightseeing map.

How do I use it?

Usually, you put the pass into the ticket gate, then take out the other side. At some stations you just show it to the ticket man/lady when you enter. For buses, just show it to the bus driver as you enter. As for tourist spots, just show the pass when you buy tickets.
