Shin Saibashi Shopping Arcade is the main shopping area in central Osaka. It’s always busy, and is full of all kinds of shops and restaurants. Expect to spend a while window shopping and finding some good bargains.
Budget travel tips
- Come here for cheaper and more family friendly restaurants than Dotonbori Street.
- For a full days shopping, combine this with a trip to Amemura (America Town). It’s a short walk away.
How to get there
From Nanba station (Osaka Subway line), take Exit 14 or 15B, then walk north towards the canal. Take a right into Dotonbori Street just before the Canal, then take the first left (you will see a dancing crab model!). Walk over the bridge to arrive at the entrance.
From Umeda station (Osaka), take the Midosuji line (Osaka Subway) to Nanba station and take the follow the instructions above (7 mins, 230 yen).
