Okonomiyaki, sometimes called a Japanese pancake in English, is a cheap and fun meal to have. It basically tastes like a mix of pancakes and omelettes, and there are all sorts of toppings and fillings. Popular ones include cabbage, pork strips and shrimp.
At some restaurants you can cook the Okonomiyaki yourself, which is great fun with friends. Just ask the waiter to show you how, and you can take it from there! Cheaper takeout shops will cook it quickly for you, and will often make a fresh one for you.

In these cities you will see restaurants with big pictures of the food, so you will definitely come across them in any shopping street. In other cities, you can also try shopping malls, which usually have somewhere for Okonomiyaki. If you are traveling you will see them everyday.
