Want to head up north to Hokkaido for the Autumn leaves this year? The vast nature here, unspoiled by all the concrete and construction of more populated areas makes it an awesome place to see the red and golden leaves.
Times vary for when to see the leaves in Hokkaido, so please check each places average dates.

Located in the heart of Sapporo, Hokkaido University’s grounds are free to explore. The main road is lined with gingko trees, so with the university’s traditional buildings this is a rather unique autumn leaves spot. Early September to late October.
Next to and on the way to Tokachi Onsen, get away from all the crowds at this quiet spot for autumn leaves. Do a bit of hiking or just relax in the hot springs surrounded by all the golden and red leaves! Mid to late September.
