Ito Kanko Freepass

ito_izu_freepassIzu Peninsula is a popular side trip from Tokyo. While not that popular with foreign tourists, it is becoming increasing well-known, and this pass will help out budget travellers. It includes a round-trip ticket to Izu, with unlimited use of transportation in the area. Discounts are also included to various tourist destinations.

What does it cost?

2 day Pass: Adults 4400 yen, Children 2190 yen

When can I use it?

Is it worth it?

A return ticket costs around 6000 yen, so this pass is definitely worth it. The unlimited use of buses and the discounts are even more of a bonus!

What are the rules?

  • Can only be used on Odakyu Line trains from Shinjuku to Odawara, then the JR Line to Ito. See the official area map.
  • Unlimited use of specified Tokai Bus routes within the Ito area.
  • Usable on local, rapid and express lines, but not on the Romance Car, limited express or Shinkansen trains.

Where can I buy it?

The easiest place to buy it is in the Odakyu Sightseeing Service Center in Shinjuku station. It is near the Odakyu line ticket gates. Free English support and maps are available here.

How do I use it?

Show your pass as you enter the train stations. For buses, just show your pass to the bus driver.

  1. Hi! May I know what is the difference between this Ito Kanko freepass and the Minami Izu Unlimited Ticket?

    1. The Ito Kanto bas just goes as far as Izu Gogen (with unlimited buses around here), while the Minami Izu Unlimited Ticket goes all the way to the bottom of the peninsular, to Izukyu Shimoda (then unlimited buses around this area). First decide where you want to go, then choose the pass! 😀
