Watching sumo (相撲) is a special and deeply rewarding cultural experience. Many watch it in the big stadiums, but seeing the sumo wrestlers train and prepare gives a fascinating insight into Japan’s national sport. Watching Keiko (morning practice) can be done for free in Tokyo at Arashio Stable.
Note that viewers do not actually go inside, but watch via a window outside.

How to get there
Take the Toei Subway Shinjuku line to Hamacho, or the Toei Subway Asakusa or Metro Hibiya line to Ningyocho station. Follow the map (to the house icon) below. It can be difficult to find, so be sure to make a copy, or use wifi at or near the station at a convenience store.
